El Paso experienced its warmest Fall on record

Meteorological Fall lasts from September 1st until November 30th, and Fall 2016 was one for the record books in El Paso.

The average temperature, daily high and low combined, this fall was 68.5°.

2016 – 68.5° 2015 – 67.9° 1933 – 67.9° 1931 – 67.7° 2012 – 67.4°

The warmest fall on record was tied just last year.

So far this fall, five days recorded record daily highs in El Paso, 97° on Sept. 19th, 90° on Oct. 16th, 88° on Oct. 19th, 87° on Oct. 24th, and 86° on Oct. 29th.

No record daily lows have been recorded in El Paso this fall.

October 2016, was also the warmest October on record in El Paso, beating the pervious record set in 1950.

November 2016 finished as the 4th warmest November on record for El Paso. Only 1927, 1942, and 2012 were warmer.

Also of note, the spring of 2016 was the ninth warmest spring on record in El Paso, and the summer of 2016 was the fifth warmest summer on record in El Paso. Making this the 3rd consecutive season to be one of the Top 10 warmest.

Records date back to 1887 in El Paso.

Year-to-date El Paso temperatures currently rank as the warmest year on record, tied with 1994 and 2011, with one month to go.

The Climate Prediction Center outlook for December is calling for above average temperatures.

2016 may end up as the warmest year on record in El Paso.
