UTEP hosts annual Midnight Breakfast during finals week

Hundreds of UTEP students are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, they are halfway through finals week. To help them get through it, UTEP hosted its annual Midnight Breakfast early Wednesday morning. Dozens lined up to get free food and relax at the event’s Stress Free Zone where students played board games, Jenga, bingo and relieved some stress with coloring books. This year, students were asked to take two canned food items and in return received a free UTEP T-shirt. “We’re going to study and get ready for school and stuff, kind of let loose a little bit before finals,” said student Alfonso Trevizo. UTEP officials said Midnight Breakfast has become a popular event on campus. “We love having this event for our students, and we love having all of our staff serve our students,” said Mallory Garcia, event services coordinator for Midnight Breakfast. Holiday movies like “A Christmas Story” were also shown. Finals week started Monday and the week will end with Winter Commencment on Saturday, December 9.
