City of Las Cruces hands out signs to support local law enforcement

The City of Las Cruces is handing out free yard signs to thank local law enforcement.

The signs read “I support law enforcement” with a black and blue American flag.

The signs are in response to the fatal shootings of Hatch Police Officer Jose Chavez and Alamogordo Police Officer Clint Corvinus, both killed while on duty.

Mayor Ken Miyagishima proposed the project at a City Council meeting that following their deaths.

The 18 x 24 inch, two-sided signs are available at no charge in the lobby of the Las Cruces Police Department, 217 E. Picacho Ave., and at the information booth in the lobby of City Hall, 700 N. Main St. The limit is one sign per property.
