The police department’s gang unit arrested a 15-year-old boy and charged him with Aggravated Robbery as a result of a December 1st shooting.

An investigation allegedly revealed the 15-year-old boy set up a meeting with the victim for an illegal drug transaction on Prado Del Sol Street in Far East El Paso.

The two met on Thursday, December 1st at 5:54 p.m.

Police say the boy and the victim were seated inside the victim’s 2006 Kia Rio when the boy grabbed the keys from the ignition and pointed a handgun at the victim.

The victim exited the vehicle and attempted to run away when the boy fired several rounds, police said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound, but is expected to be okay, police added.
