Bliss soldier killed in fiery motorcycle crash on Loop 375

A Fort Bliss soldier was killed in a fiery motorcycle wreck on Loop 375 early Monday morning, officials on post said.

El Paso police responded to the crash in El Paso’s Lower Valley at about 12:50 am.

The soldier was not identified by police or Fort Bliss officials. Police said identification “is pending further investigation by the medical examiner’s office.”

Police said the motorcyclist was riding a 2009 Kawasaki 600 “at a high rate of speed” before hitting a guard rail. The motorcycle caught fire and the motorcyclist died at the scene, police added.

ABC-7’s ‘Round the Clock crew saw Special Traffic Investigators and Fort Bliss police at the scene near Loop 375, between North Loop Drive and Socorro Road.

El Paso police said no other vehicles were involved in the crash. ABC-7 crews saw a smashed black motorcycle being towed away.
