Police identify victims in Mulligan’s shooting

El Paso Police are investigating a shooting in East El Paso, which sent three people to the hospital, including one in critical condition.

Police identified the victims as 61 -year old Juan Martinez, 49-year-old Ballardo Salcido, 36-year-old Juan Miguel Vega-Rivera and 47-year-old David Villalobos.

The shooting happened at the Mulligan’s Chopped Hog bar on George Dieter Dr. at around 9:20 p.m. Sunday night.

Police said a fight involving two groups believed to be involved with gangs broke out inside the bar. One of the groups was asked to leave. A man later returned to the bar and shot several people.

The shooting is suspected to be gang related and the shooter was believed to be targeting victims, Detective Michael Baranyay said.

No arrests have been made and the suspect fled on foot, Baranyay said.
