Guns N’ Roses, ZZ Top rock the Sun Bowl

Rock-‘n’-rollers from around the Borderland and the region are expected to swarm the Sun Bowl on Wednesday evening.

Guns N’ Roses, the L.A. based rock band considered by the Recording Industry Association of America as the 41st best-selling artist of all time will be performing along with Houston-based ZZ Top in their ‘Not in our lifetime” tour.

“I remember growing up listening to Guns and Roses. My dad would be outside working on his Camaro and just jamming to Guns and Roses .. it’s part of my childhood it’s part of my upbringing,” Amber Aranda said.

ZZ Top formed in Texas around 1969 and is considered among the top 100 selling artists according to the RIAA. The band has acquired eleven gold, seven platinum and three multi-platinum records as of 2016.

“I was in Junior High School, we were listening to ‘Legs’ and just cruising around in a Nova and just loving the music,” Lane Camfield told ABC-7.

For many it was a night of nostalgia.

“I came to have a good time, make great memories and let it take me back to the past and be a kid again,” Camfield said.
