UTEP Miners take on Arizona Friday night

The UTEP Miners football team is looking for its first win of the season and will take on the PAC 12’s Arizona Wildcats Friday night at the Sun Bowl Stadium.

The matchup will be nationally televised on ESPN’s main network. The last time UTEP appeared on ESPN’s main network was in 2014 against Utah State in the New Mexico Bowl.

Despite UTEP’s appearance on the national stage, the team needs its fans to fill up the stadium.

The team lost its first two games to the Oklahoma University and Rice.

Last week’s game brought some injuries that took out several players including quarterback Ryan Metz. Senior Zack Greenlee will take his place tonight.

The Friday matchup is also going up against a number of sporting events like high school football and the El Paso Chihuahuas.

UTEP is also hosting Military Night to honor all those serving in the Armed Forces.

Outer campus tailgating lots will open at 4 p.m. and inner campus will open at 6 p.m.

Kick off is at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available.
