EPPD Gang Unit charges Woman in connection to shots fired investigation

The police department’s Gang Unit arrested and charged a woman in connection to a shots fired call in Northeast El Paso.

Lacey Goldsmith, 40, is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Police said shots were fired just before 10 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2017 on the 8400 block of Dyer.

Goldsmith confronted a man and a woman as they walked along that stretch of Dyer, investigators said.

During the confrontation, Goldsmith allegedly took out a firearm and the victims ran to the other side of the street.

Goldsmith discharged several rounds, chased the victims and discharged additional rounds, police said. Police did not say whether the victims were struck by the rounds.

The Gang Unit identified Goldsmith as the individual responsible for the alleged assault and secured two arrest warrants.

Police located Goldsmith Thursday afternoon and booked her into the El Paso County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
