Alleged Shooter said “I’m going to jail. That’s right. I’m going to kill you,” document states
The woman arrested and charged in connection to a shots fired call in Northeast El Paso allegedly fired six shots at a man and a woman, a criminal complaint obtained by ABC-7 states.
Lacey Goldsmith, 40, is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Police said shots were fired just before 10 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2017 on the 8400 block of Dyer.
Goldsmith confronted a man and a woman as they walked along that stretch of Dyer, investigators said.
The victims told police Goldsmith told them, “I’m going to jail tonight. That’s right. Start running. I’m going to kill you,” the criminal complaint states.
During the confrontation, Goldsmith allegedly took out a firearm and pointed it at the victims, who ran to the other side of the street.
Goldsmith initially fired four rounds at the victims, the court document states. She allegedly chased the victims and discharged an additional two rounds, the document adds.
Police did not say whether the victims were struck by the rounds. The criminal complaint does not mention the victims being struck by a round.
The victims were able to run away to a nearby home, where they called 911 for help.
One of the victims identified Goldsmith through a Facebook page. The police department’s Gang Unit then identified Goldsmith as the individual responsible for the alleged assault and secured two arrest warrants.
Police located Goldsmith the following day and booked her into the El Paso County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
