Deshaun Watson donates first game check to stadium employees

Deshaun Watson already had plenty of fans, but now he’s going to have plenty more.

The rookie quarterback donated his first game check to three women who work in the NRG Stadium cafeteria. All three were impacted by flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Watson’s check was worth $27,353.

The Houston Texans released a video of Watson donating his check via their Twitter account, @HoustonTexans. The recipients were all surprised by the donation and hugged Watson after he presented each with an envelope.

Watson said he wanted to help the employees get back on their feet. He also wanted to give back as his family once received a house built by Habitat for Humanity.

The former national champion is also receiving praise for his play on-the-field so far this season, including his last performance against the Patriots in which he threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns.
