TRAFFIC UPDATE: All lanes on Loop 375 at Paseo del Norte are now open

El Paso Police have confirmed that all lanes on Loop 375 at Paseo Del Norte are now open after a fatal accident early Wednesday that involved three vehicles.

Police officials confirmed that the crash was a result of road rage.

The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. Wednesday on Transmountain Road in the westbound lanes near the Paseo Del Norte exit.

The preliminary investigation by police reveals that two drivers were arguing as they drove when they stopped in the lanes on Transmountain and got out of their vehicles to continue fighting.

A third driver was unable to stop and slammed into the vehicles.

Police told ABC-7 that a passenger in one of those vehicles was severely injured and taken to the hospital. That person ended up dying from their injuries. Police could not confirm whether the victim was a man or a woman.

The crash has closed the westbound lanes of Transmountain until further notice. Eastbound traffic lanes are back open.
