State Police arrest 2 after overnight vehicle chase in Far East El Paso County

Local authorities pursued a vehicle from the Northeast to the Far East late Tuesday night and into the early morning hours of Wednesday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

This occurred around midnight after police say a Texas Department of Safety Trooper attempted to pull over a Honda near Dyer St. and State Loop 375 south for an equipment violation, but the driver did not stop.

The chase ended on Karl Court and Mark Jason Drive near Montana Vista Elementary School in the early morning hours on Wednesday. Police say the driver was identified as Kevin Jonathan Alejandre, 19, of El Paso. He was taken into custody, arrested, and charged with evading in a motor vehicle.

Police say David Saenz, also 19, of Roanoke, TX was a passenger and had several active warrants, including evading arrest and criminal mischief. Both Saenz and Alejandre were booked into the El Paso County Jail.

Authorities said no one was injured and there were no crashes. All other passengers were released.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said they assisted the Texas Department of Transportation in the pursuit.
