Culberson County Sheriff clarifies theory on Border Patrol agent’s death near Van Horn
The mysterious death of Border Patrol Agent Rogelio Martinez last November sparked a swarm of theories from local law enforcement, to even President Donald Trump.
On the night of Nov. 18, Agent Martinez was reported down in a culvert off of I-10 near Van Horn, Texas. Martinez later died and his partner, who also suffered injuries, claims he doesn’t remember the events of that night.
After months of investigation, Culberson County Sheriff Oscar Carrillo is now clarifying his theory of what happened, according to National Public Radio. The sheriff believes Agent Martinez and his partner parked on the far side of I-10 to check on something, then ran across the freeway, and right off the top of the culvert.
