Chihuahuas extend win streak to eight with victory over Salt Lake Wednesday
The Chihuahuas continued rolling Wednesday night with a 6-4 victory at home against the Salt Lake Bees.
El Paso, fresh off a one-day break, picked up right where they left off with another victory. The team went 7-0 on its most recent road trip prior to Wednesday’s home game.
Salt Lake jumped out early, scoring three runs in the top of the first. But the Chihuahuas responded with six unanswered runs over the course of the next seven innings.
The Chihuahuas recorded 14 hits while the Bees only managed seven.
Diego Goris and Franmil Reyes both tallied two RBI in the win while Travis Jankowski went 3-4 at the plate and scored a run.
The Chihuahuas improved to 15-5 and now have a three-game lead in the division over the Bees, who fell to 12-8.
The teams will face each other again Thursday night at Southwest University Park with the first pitch slated for 6:35 p.m.
