Chihuahuas fall 6-5 to Salt Lake Thursday snapping eight-game win streak
The Chihuahuas fell 6-5 to the Salt Lake Bees Thursday night at home, snapping their eight-game winning streak.
That eight-game streak matched the longest in franchise history, but they were unable to set a new record Thursday despite jumping out to an 4-0 lead after the first inning.
The Chihuahuas now have three eight-game winning streaks in their history.
Salt Lake would score five combined runs in the second and third innings to erase El Paso’s early lead.
Javy Guerra hit his fifth home run of the season for the Chihuahuas and Franmil Reyes drove in three on a double in the first, but it wasn’t enough in the end.
Rymer Liriano and David Fletcher both connected on two-run homers for the Bees.
The Chihuahuas fell to 15-6 with the loss while Salt Lake improved its record to 13-8.
The two teams will meet again Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at Southwest University Park.
