Fatal crash on I-10 in east El Paso

A fatal crash happened near Interstate 10 and Airway Boulevard Saturday morning, according to police.

ABC-7 crews at the scene said at least three cars were involved in the crash that shut down I-10 and Airway exits in both directions.

Emergency responders said it happened around 3:30 a.m., and one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Special Traffic Investigators are at the scene.

Traffic was backed up as a result of the crash. Westbound drivers can take Montana as an alternate route, eastbound drivers can take North Loop via Trowbridge.
