NMSU eliminated from NCAA Baseball Tournament, Aggies fall to Kent State, 2-1

Saturday, the road to Omaha and the College World Series hit a dead end for the NMSU Aggies.

NMSU saw an early exit from the NCAA Baseball Tournament after falling to the Kent State Golden Flashes in an elimination game by a final of 2-1.

NMSU pitcher, Kyle Bradish was solid the whole game throwing 9 strikeouts.

The game was scoreless until the top of the 6th when NMSU’s Caleb Henderson hit an RBI double to put NMSU up 1-0.

NMSU would hold on to that lead until Bradish was pulled from the game in the bottom of the 8th inning.

Aggies’ relief pitcher, Brock Whittlesey would see his first pitch of the game go for a 2-run home run, courtesy of Kent State catcher Pete Schular.

The 2-run homer would give the Golden Flashes the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th.

NMSU had a chance in the bottom of the 9th to tie or take back the lead with 2 runners on base, but down to their final out, NMSU’s Bradon Williams would ground out to first putting an end to NMSU’s season.

The Aggies end their season with an overall record of 40-22.
