DWI Arrest: Torres remains with SISD, no longer AD and head coach at El Dorado

Ruben Torres will no longer serve as El Dorado High School’s head football coach and athletic director following his arrest for allegedly driving drunk.

Torres, however, remains “a current, active employee of Socorro ISD,” according to the Socorro Independent School District.

The district did not clarify what Torres’ new position with the district will be.

The former head football coach was charged with Driving While Intoxicated on Monday, June 3, 2018.

ABC-7 archives show Torres, a UTEP graduate, was named the high school’s head football coach and athletic director in 2016. Torres was formerly the football coach at Ysleta High School.
