‘High-risk’ felon allegedly leads troopers on car chase, crashes into car and rock wall

The alleged “high-risk” felon accused of leading El Paso Police on a car chase overnight has been identified as 22-year-old Josue Infante.

A spokeswoman with the Texas Department of Public Safety told ABC-7 a state police officer attempted to pull over an Izuzu Rodea SUV allegedly driven by Infante on Sunland Park just west of I-10.

Infante allegedly led troopers on a chase to Central El Paso, where he reportedly struck another vehicle at the intersection of Lebanon Ave. and Russell Road. The cars were seen smashed into a rock wall, causing serious damage to private property.

Occupants in the car allegedly struck by Infante’s SUV received minor injuries and were taken to University Medical Center, DPS said.

Infante will be charged with evading and was booked into the El Paso County Jail. ABC-7 is working to obtain Infante’s arrest photo.
