EPPD: Death of 3-year-old boy “considered suspicious”

The death of a 3-year-old boy Tuesday is considered suspicious, according to El Paso police.

Police haven’t said what caused the boy’s death.

Authorities on the scene told ABC-7 they conducted a welfare check on a home on the 11500 block of Spencer Drive at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

“Upon arrival, we found that fire medical services were providing medical assistance. The child was transported to Del Sol Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased,” said Enrique Carrillo, El Paso Police spokesman.

Police said they were told the boy was not breathing and was taken to the hospital, where he died. The Crimes Against Persons unit was also called out to investigate. Police said no arrests have been made.
