Back to School events this weekend

‘Brunch and Learn’ is happening this weekend at the Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso at 2000 Transmountain Rd., on the third floor.

Parents can take advantage of a free seminar on childhood obesity and nutrition.

In San Elizario, a Back-to-School Safety Fair will be hosted by the San Elizario Municipal Court.

There will be school supply raffles and the community is encouraged to attend.

The event Saturday from 8 to noon at the San Elizario Memorial Veterans Plaza.

At Eastlake High School, the Socorro School District is hosting its first-ever School Safety Summit.

Parents, students and community members who live in the Eastlake feeder pattern are invited to attend to learn more about the school’s safety and operations plans, including safety protocols when it comes to lockouts, lockdown and evacuations.

The summit is on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Eastlake High School.
