Hollywood actor Ethan Hawke coming to El Paso

Hollywood actor-director-writer and fellow Texan Ethan Hawke is headed to El Paso for a special screening of his new film “BLAZE” at the Alamo Drafthouse.

“BLAZE” tells the story of an unacknowledged songwriter and musician Blaze Foley of the Texas outlaw music movement who contributed to country music. It’s based of former partner Sybil Rosen’s memoir, “Living in the Woods in a Tree: Remembering Blaze Foley.”

Hawke, who directed and co-wrote the film, will also host a Q&A session at the drafthouse with the star of the film Ben Dickey, and Sybil Rosen.

The film was released earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival where Dickey won the “Special Jury Award for Achievement in Acting”. “BLAZE” is Dickey’s breakout role appearance in a film.

Two screenings of the film will be shown on Tuesday, Aug. 28. at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Alamo Drafthouse is located at 250 E. Montecillo Blvd. in West El Paso.
