The Louie Carbajal Memorial Wrestling Tournament

The annual Bel Air wrestling tournament honoring Louie Carbajal was Saturday, January 5th out at Ysleta Junior High School.

The Louie Carbajal wrestling tournament honors the memory of Carbajal. A Scotty from the class of 1990, the Bel Air graduate won silver in the Texas heavy weight division.

Wrestlers from all over the Borderland came out to show what they got and get busy on the mat.

We caught up with coach Scogin and this is what he said about the benefit of wrestling.

“Its great for conditioning and works with the athletes coordination and just like at Bel Air High School we promote it.”
