Locals test their driving skills at Auto Cross event

Dozens of local drivers tested their driving skills at an Auto Cross event Sunday at Western Playland.

The event is held about once a month and it allows every day people to test their cars on a timed track.

Mark Winton is in charge of the event and he said, “You have eight attempts to learn and master the best time possible, said Mark Winton.”

The track changes at every event and Winton told ABC-7 it doesn’t matter how epensive your car is to win the trophy.

“It really comes down to driver skill not how much money you have in your car or how much you spent in modificaitions, really it’s open for anyone to be competitive,” said Winton.

There are trained staff members at the track to ensure everyone’s safety.
