El Paso woman charged with filing false police report arrested on Valentine’s Day

Police arrested an El Paso woman who allegedly lied to investigators about a vehicle theft and thousands of dollars in stolen money.

Erica Rodarte, 34, is charged with False Report to a Peace Officer.

On January 23, 2019, Rodarte called police from her place of business to report her vehicle had been burglarized outside her East El Paso residence the previous day.

Rodarte allegedly told police her wallet, containing $9,000 cash, had been taken from inside the vehicle.

An investigation revealed Rodarte had provided false information regarding the burglary of the vehicle and the stolen money, police said.

Police secured a warrant for Rodarte’s arrested. The woman was taken into custody on Thursday, February 14, 2019.

She was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
