Chime in: You can help city officials on 2020 projects
The city of El Paso is bringing back its “Chime In” program, allowing people to provide input on projects and services for fiscal year 2020.
Those interested can participate in an online survey to help draft the budget. Find the survey here.
The deadline to submit the online survey is April 20.
“Chime In” has proved successful in the past, according to the city. Citizens were able to “Chime In” for the 2019 fiscal budget in 2018.
“Out of the 1,240 responses, the top three priorities we received were related to public safety, streets and parks.” Robert Cortinas, CFO for the City of El Paso, said. “So the overall budget last year went up by about $30 million. Out of that $30 million, $18 million of that went to public safety, which was one of the top three priorities.”
