El Paso Chihuahuas unveil new name, specialty logo and uniforms

The El Paso Chihuahuas will change their name to the El Paso Margaritas for a limited series of games this season.

The team has unveiled a specialty logo and uniforms that are part of the league’s “Copa de la Diversion” (Fun Cup) series of games.

According to the Minor League Baseball site, margaritas hold a significant place in El Paso’s history, “considering the beverage’s origins trace back to 1942 in El Paso.” MiLB said the beverage represents more than a drink: “it represents El Paso’s welcoming culture, its soul and the good times associated with the city and the team.”
