Person shot on Easter in Las Cruces park

One person was shot at a Las Cruces park on Easter, a spokesman for the Las Cruces Police Department confirmed to ABC-7.

Just before 5 p.m., police were called to Apodaca Park because of a large fight, the spokesman said. According to the department, one person pulled out a gun and fired at least one round, which hit another person.

The injury does not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.

The shooting happened in a park where “a lot” of people were enjoying the Easter holiday, the spokesman confirmed.

No arrests had been made as of 6:50 p.m., but police continue to investigate the incident.
