Border Patrol agents rescue man stuck in canal grate off Border Highway
Border Patrol agents rescued a man in the canal along the Border Highway near Fonseca.
The rescue was called in just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.
El Paso firefighters also helped rescue the man.
Video from the scene recorded by a border agent shows them pulling the person up the embankment.
A spokesman for the fire department tells ABC-7 a man got stuck on the grate outside the water and agents had to free him.
It is unclear if the man is an undocumented immigrant who tried to enter the U.S. illegally.
