NMSU guard Brooke Salas signs with WNBA champion Seattle Storm

New Mexico State guard Brooke Salas became the third player in program history to sign with a WNBA team Thursday when she inked a training camp contract with the Seattle Storm.

Salas joins Moriah Mack (2017) and Anita Maxwell (1997) as the only Aggies to put pen to paper with a WNBA franchise.

The Storm also just so happen to be the defending WNBA champions.

“I’d like to thank the Seattle Storm organization for giving me an opportunity to continue my playing career,” said Salas. “I look forward to competing for a spot on the team.”

Salas helped lead the Aggies to three NCAA Tournament appearances in her four years at NMSU.

She also took home two WAC Player of the Year honors and was also named the WAC Defensive Player of the Year in her senior campaign.

Salas finished her career with the Aggies second in career points, first in blocks, third in steals, and fifth in rebounds.
