Goodwill El Paso says arrest of CEO’s husband not tied to non-profit business

Goodwill Industries of El Paso has issued a statement distancing the non-profit business from the recent arrest of their CEO’s husband on federal fraud, forgery and perjury charges.

“It is our understanding that this investigation is a personal issue and not related to Goodwill,” the statement read. “We want to assure the public that Goodwill is and continues to be good stewards of their trust.”

CEO Melinda Jordan was also taken into custody by the FBI at the time of the arrest of her husband, James Jordan, last week following a raid on the couple’s east El Paso home.

She was later released and the Goodwill statement emphasized that Melinda Jordan “has not been charged or implicated in any way.”

Federal authorities have not detailed the circumstances of the eight criminal counts that James Jordan faces, which also includes felony gun possession.
