Fugitives found hiding in closet, under clothes by El Paso deputies

El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies said they captured a pair of fugitives — including a woman on their ‘Most Wanted’ list — after finding one in a closet and the other hiding under a pile of clothing.

The arrests took place at a house in the 500 block of N. Carolina Drive late last week.

Bonnie Hernandez, 30, and Jeremy Johnson, 29, were each booked into jail on a variety of charges, mostly stemming from drugs.

Deputies acting on a tip said they received permission from the homeowner to search the house, where they found Hernandez hiding in a closet and Johnson hiding under a pile of clothes in another part of the home.

Hernandez was previously featured as one of El Paso’s ‘Most Wanted’ individuals by Crime Stoppers.
