El Paso Water offers free sandbags during monsoon season

If you live in an area that floods easily, El Paso Water is offering free sandbags.

Customers can get sandbags for flood control any day of the week beginning Monday, July 8. The expanded site locations and hours will be available through the end of September. The summer distribution sites will reopen in the Mission Valley, west, central and east areas of El Paso, and hours will be extended at the Stormwater Operations Center, which is open throughout the year.

Currently, the utility distributes sandbags daily the Stormwater Operations Center on 4801 Fred Wilson Avenue. That location is normally open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but those hours will now be extended. The limit is ten sandbags per visit, according to the website. Customers will need to show a Texas ID or an El Paso Water bill to get sandbags.
