EL PASO, Texas -- A Las Cruces man has been arrested on accusations that he repeatedly violated a protective order by stalking his own mother, police said Wednesday.

Ruben A. Rincon, 27, was being held in the Dona Ana County Detention Center without bond on a felony charge of aggravated stalking.

Investigators said Rincon’s mother obtained an order of protection last year that forbids him from having any contact with her, although they did not indicate the reason as to why the order was issued.

In all, police said there is evidence that Rincon violated the protective order on at least five occasions since it was issued. No further details were provided by authorities.
