Manhunt underway in west Texas for ‘armed and dangerous’ murder suspects from Odessa
ODESSA, Texas -- Authorities across west Texas were on the lookout Tuesday evening for Odessa murder suspects who were "considered armed and dangerous."
Law enforcement across the region from Odessa-Midland to the El Paso area were told to be on the lookout for the suspects who are sought in connection with the shootings of two 18-year-olds, one of whom died, at an Odessa motel over the weekend.
"Be advised, subjects should be considered armed and dangerous. Use extreme caution if encountered," said the message distributed by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety to police around the region.
Odessa police said Jesse Tryon Jr. was shot and killed, while Savion Cottrell was shot and critically wounded on Saturday night.
The gunfire took place at the Parkway Inn, which is located off of Business 20 in Odessa. Investigators believe an argument, apparently involving drugs, led up to the shootings.
