A water line leaks into an east El Paso intersection.

EL PASO, Texas -- A water line was struck by a contractor on Friday afternoon, flooding a busy east El Paso intersection and leaving a neaby apartment complex without water.

The water leak happened about 2 p.m. at the corner of Hawkins and Viscount.

While it made for a mess for motorists in the area, residents of the Celina Apartments were left with no water service.

El Paso Water officials sent a water tanker to Viscount and Grover to provide residents with drinkable water while they worked to restore service, which occurred around 6 p.m.
