Nearly 40% of El Pasoans fully vaccinated amid 4 new virus deaths

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health announced four new coronavirus-related deaths and 90 new cases Monday.

The latest deaths included a woman in her 70s, a man in his 80s, and a man and a woman in their 90s.

El Paso County's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,512. There are 64 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.

El Paso health department data shows that 38.9% of El Pasoans over the age of 16 are now fully vaccinated, with 61.2% having received at least one shot.

The number of known active cases now stands at 2,375, a decrease of 7 from Sunday.

There are 178 Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospitals, with 53 of those patients in intensive care units.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 133,458 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 128,440 reported recoveries.
