Over 630,000 vaccine doses given in El Paso; 4 additional virus deaths

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health announced four new coronavirus-related deaths and 236 new cases Wednesday.

The latest deaths included a man in his 40s, 2 men in their 50s, and a woman in her 90s.

El Paso County's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,522. There are 54 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.

El Paso health department data shows that 39.7% of El Pasoans over the age of 16 are now fully vaccinated, with 62% having received at least one shot.

The number of known active cases now stands at 2,431, an increase of 96 from Tuesday.

There are 173 Covid-19 patients (-4) in El Paso hospitals, with 51 (+2) of those patients in intensive care units.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 133,790 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 128,716 reported recoveries.
