Suspect still at-large in teen girl’s stabbing at Cielo Vista Mall
UPDATE, June 7: El Paso police indicated Monday that the suspect in a weekend stabbing of a teenage girl outside the Cielo Vista Mall remained at-large after fleeing the attack scene.
Investigators have said the stabbing stemmed from a fight between two teen girls in front of the Macy's store. One of the pair pulled out a knife and wounded the other in that incident. The stabber then fled the scene.
ORIGINAL REPORT, June 6: EL PASO, Texas — A teenage girl was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack that stemmed from a fight at El Paso’s Cielo Vista Mall late Sunday afternoon.
The fight involved two teen girls and took place outside of the Macy’s department store at the mall about 4:15 p.m.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, fire officials said, although police later indicated the stab wounds were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police scanner traffic initially indicated, and authorities later confirmed, that officers were looking for the other teen girl involved in the fight as the suspected stabber; she fled the scene.
