Water main break fixed, classes will be held Friday at El Paso’s Irvin High School
EL PASO, Texas -- Classes will resume Friday at Irvin High School, officials said, after the school was closed Thursday due to a water main break.
A statement issued Thursday afternoon by the El Paso Independent School District said, "The water main break issue has been fixed and services have been restored to the campus."
The repairs were completed about 1 p.m. Thursday and students, faculty and staff were told to come to school as usual on Friday.
Officials with El Paso Water said the water line that ruptured did not belong to the company, but rather is on the campus and wholly-owned by the school district. As a result, those officials said that aside from the school, no other homes or businesses were impacted by the water problem.
IRVIN HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE: The water main break issue has been fixed and services have been restored to the campus. Classes at Irvin will resume as normal starting tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 22.
