Late layup by Butler lifts Charlotte over Rice

HOUSTON — Austin Butler made a layup with 1:23 left to give Charlotte the lead en route to a 67-64 win over Rice on Saturday. He scored 14 points as did Jackson Threadgill to lead the 49ers. Mylyjael Poteat led the Owls with 15 points.
