El Paso man honors his wife’s memory with fashion show
EL PASO, Texas-- The owner of Zions Bow Ties always wanted to have his own fashion show; after his wife's passing last year, he decided to finally do one in her honor.
Joseph Snell told ABC-7 he and his wife, Roselyn, shared a passion for fashion and believes The Queen Has Spoken's fashion show is the perfect opportunity to remember her.
"Since the recent passing of my wife, I felt more obligated this year, like this has to be the year." Snell told ABC.
He says he would often speak to Roselyn about hosting his own fashion show where he could display the bow ties he made.
Snell was taught to sew by an aunt at the age of nine, a skill that would define his future in 2016, coming out of the army after 20 years.
Snell credited his mom and wife for shaping his sense of fashion, saying they always made sure he left home looking his best.
"She reminded me of my mother." Said Snell while chuckling, "Before you get ready to step outside the house, it's like, 'hey, are you going looking like that, where you going?', you know. 'No, you can't go outside looking like that."
Last September Roselyn passed away unexpectedly. To honor her memory Snell founded The Queen Has Spoken, a clothing line inspired on her and created by him.
"And the reason that I call it 'The Queen Has Spoken' is that Roselyn would always say 'I said what I said.'" Snell remembered.
On May 1st, Jospeh Snell will be putting on his first fashion show named The Queen Has Spoken. It will begin at six in the afternoon at Hotel Indigo, where several designers and vendors will display their products and participate in the runway show.
