El Paso High School’s modernization is complete, ribbon-cutting celebrates upgrades to historic campus
EL PASO, Texas - In 2016, El Paso voters approved a $668.8 million bond proposal to modernized District facilities.
El Paso High is a Trost-designed building and received $19.4 million for upgrades that respected the history of the architecture.
The upgrades included a new fine arts building complete with classrooms for art, band, choir, guitar, piano, and orchestra instruction.
Renovations were also done to the main building. The campus boasts a recording studio and an art gallery.
Superintendent Diana Sayavedra said. “The EPISD Bond work at the school respects the history of
the Trost-designed building while at the same time it allows for modern learning spaces to be made
available to our students there.”
10 of the 17 major projects in the bond have been completed to date. The rest are
on track to be completed on time.
