Cowboys legend Troy Aikman pays a visit to El Paso

EL PASO, Texas - It's no secret that El Paso loves the Dallas Cowboys.

Monday, Cowboys Nation in the Borderland was at a fever pitch when Cowboys legend Troy Aikman paid a visit to El Paso.

Aikman was in town to promote his beer called "Eight" named after the jersey number he wore during his football career.

The 3-time Super Bowl Champion made stops at local grocery stores and local bars to promote his beer.

Everywhere he went, several fans lined up just to get a glimpse of the Pro-football Hall of Famer.

Some fans where lucky enough to snag an autograph, or even a photo with Aikman.

Aikman has fond memories of El Paso.

From 1996 to 1998, the Cowboys would hold scrimmages at the Sun Bowl.

The stadium would be packed, and Aikman recalled just how passionate El Paso fans were, and still are about the team.

"I just remember how rabid the fans were for a scrimmage," Aikman said. "It wasn't even a pre-season game, and so it really struck me the energy in the stadium that night, it was fantastic. Obviously a lot of Cowboys fans across the state in general, but especially here in El Paso, so it's great to be back."
