New Year’s Eve in the Borderland: Where you can celebrate

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- It's time to celebrate the start of 2024, which is now less than 48 hours away, and there are plenty of places you can go in the Borderland to usher in the new year!

These are some of the New Year's Eve events taking place in both El Paso and Las Cruces:

  • NYE Party at the Elmont, 8:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.
    • The Elmont Resort and Event Center is offering a celebration that's being self-described as "unforgettable." The 21 and up masquerade gala event will feature food offerings, party favors, and a midnight toast. Admission is $90 and tickets can be purchased here.
  • New Year's Eve at El Mirador Rooftop Bar with DJ Johnny Kage, 9 P.M. to 2 A.M.
    • DJ Johnny Kage will be performing at the El Mirador Rooftop Bar at the Hotel Paso del Norte. Attendees are encouraged to "dress to impress." Admission is only for those aged 21 and older. Tickets can be bought for $100 here.
  • New Year's Eve Party at 101 El Paso, Texas, 9 P.M. to 2 A.M.
    • If you're looking for a cheaper option than the two events above, this New Year's Eve party at 4151 N Mesa St in west El Paso has tickets available for as low as $15. Those can be purchased here.
  • Ring in the New Year EARLY with Dave & Buster's, 4 P.M.
    • If you're looking for a more family-friendly celebration, or simply want to go to sleep early, this event may be for you. The $45 admission includes appetizers, cinnamon sugar churros, unlimited soft drinks, a ginger ale toast during an early new year’s countdown, and a $20 Power Card with unlimited video game play. This takes place at the Dave & Busters on 6101 Gateway Blvd. West.
  • 10th Annual Las Cruces Chile Drop, 8 P.M. to 12:30 A.M.
    • The free family-friendly event will take place at the Plaza de Las Cruces. The Las Cruces Chile Drop is ranked #3 on USA Today's final list of the best countdowns to 2024. ABC-7's very own Jason McNabb will be Grand Marshal of the event, which is organized by Russ Smith and the Downtown Las Cruces Partnership.
