EL PASO, Texas -- Juan and Gloria Serrano are happy to dance together once again.

The couple didn't think it would be possible, because Gloria was in severe pain. The pain finally got so bad, Juan took his wife to the Spine Center at University Medical Center in a wheelchair because she was unable to walk.

Juan asked Dr. Ackshay Gupte if he could help, because he feared that Gloria was going to be that way permanently. All he wanted was to dance with her again, he told Dr. Gupte.

Dr. Gupte and his team examined and tested Gloria and found a large tumor next to her cervical spine.

On Dec. 12 of last year, Dr. Gupte and other UMC Spine Center specialists removed the tumor.

Gloria and Juan's daughter Erika sent cell phone video to the medical team last month as a testament to their work, thanking them for restoring their dancing days.
