El Paso reports 48 new virus cases — fewest since early September
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health announced one coronavirus-related death and 48 new cases Tuesday.
That marks the fewest new cases reported in El Paso County since Sept. 9.
The latest fatality was a man in his 50s, so El Paso's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,541. There are 49 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.
El Paso health department data shows that 43.3% of El Pasoans over the age of 16 are now fully vaccinated, with 64.4% having received at least one.
The number of known active cases now stands at 2,230.
There are 147 (+2) Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospitals, with 45 (-1) of those patients in intensive care units.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 134,441 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 129,552 reported recoveries.
