El Paso reports 7 virus deaths as active cases continue to decline

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health reported seven coronavirus-related deaths and 46 new cases Thursday.

The latest fatality victims included:

  • 1 woman in her 50s
  • 2 men in their 70s
  • 3 women in their 70s
  • 1 man in his 90s

El Paso County's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,559. Health officials have repeatedly acknowledged in the past that they often confirm Covid-19 deaths months after they occur. These fatalities occurred over the past six months.

The number of known active cases now stands at 2,027. Active cases have decreased by more than 500 in the past three weeks.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 134,591 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 129,990 reported recoveries.
