El Paso reports fewest Covid-19 cases in a day since last June

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health announced three coronavirus related deaths and 34 new cases Monday.

That's the fewest cases announced in a single day since June 1, 2020; the number of known active cases stands at 1,831.

Meanwhile, El Paso County's pandemic death toll increased to 2,571. The latest victims included 2 women and a man, all in their 60s.

There are 30 suspected Covid-19 deaths still being investigated by the health department.

There are 123 Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospitals with 42 of them in the ICU.

El Paso health department data shows that 48% of El Pasoans over the age of 16 are now fully vaccinated, with 66.5% having received at least one shot.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 134,860 confirmed cases with 130,357 reported recoveries.
